How we actually review a game at Ironvale Play
People sometimes ask how long we spend on a review, and the honest answer is: it depends on the game. But there's a rough process we stick to, and it starts with just playing.
We install a game and treat it like a normal player would. No cheats, no shortcuts, no skipping the tutorial. If a game is confusing in its first ten minutes, that's part of the review, because it's part of your experience too.
Then we keep playing across several days. First impressions lie. A game that feels thin on day one sometimes opens up, and a game that dazzles early sometimes runs out of ideas fast.
Only after real hours do we start writing, and Lukas edits everything before it goes up. We argue about ratings more than we'd like to admit.
The whole point is that every word comes from genuine playtime. If we didn't like it, we tell you, and we try to explain why so you can decide for yourself.
