Tide and Throne
★★★★☆ 4.4
Tide and Throne asks you to run a small seaside kingdom, and it manages to be deep without drowning you in menus. You balance fishing fleets, trade routes, and the occasional rival who decides your harbor looks tempting. Each decision ripples outward in ways that kept me planning two or three turns ahead.
I appreciated that the game runs in real-ish time but pauses respectfully when you close it. No punishment for living your life. The difficulty curve is fair, and the tutorials actually teach instead of just talking at you.
After a week I had my own little routine for growing a town, and that feeling of a working system you built yourself is the whole appeal here.
